Emerald Cave (Tham Morakot) — Koh Mook
Swim through 80 metres of darkness to emerge into a secret beach surrounded by towering cliffs — Thailand's most magical hidden natural wonder.

About this Place
The Emerald Cave on Koh Mook island is one of Thailand's most magical natural experiences. An 80-metre sea tunnel — passable only by swimming or kayaking through total darkness — opens into a hidden inland beach enclosed entirely by towering jungle-covered limestone cliffs with a narrow sliver of sky above. The hidden beach is accessible only by this aquatic passage, making the experience feel like discovering a secret world. Tour boats anchor outside while groups swim through the tunnel in single file. A torch is essential. The hidden beach is pristine white sand with emerald water. Best visited at low tide when the passage is easier. Koh Mook itself is a quiet and beautiful island with Farang Beach on the west side. Trang's island archipelago is considered by many experienced Thai travellers to be the country's most pristine. Access via longtail from Koh Mook's Hat Sai pier.
