The Story Behind Thailand-Vloggers

Built from travel experience, family life and a deep passion for Thailand content creators – this is the story of how this platform came to life.

The Journey to Southeast Asia

It all started in 2013 with a one-way ticket to Southeast Asia. What was planned as a few months of travel became an entirely new chapter of life. Thailand and Cambodia – the region captivated me from the very first day.

Sihanoukville in Cambodia became a formative place. In the early 2010s, it was still a quiet beach town – long before the casino boom. Small beach bars under palm trees, endless sunsets over the ocean and backpackers from around the world. A place where time moved slower and life reduced itself to the essentials.

There I found a vibrant community of travelers, digital nomads and expats. People carving their own paths – far from conventional career tracks. In the evenings we’d sit together at beach bars, exchange stories and plan the next adventure. It was the first experience of the slow, Southeast Asian rhythm of life.

That time fundamentally changed my perspective. Work and life don’t have to be tied to one place. The warmth of the people, the openness of the culture and the endless possibilities of the region laid the foundation for everything that would follow.

Love, Croatia and a New Chapter

During my time in Southeast Asia, I met my wife – a Thai woman who would change my life forever. Together we moved to Northern Croatia and began an entirely new chapter there.

We built a holiday rental business from the ground up. The property was a duplex house – a maisonette apartment across two floors and a studio apartment. The maisonette had a balcony on a mountain ridge, with a view across the valley towards the city of Varaždin. Waking up to that view every morning was priceless.

From renovating to online booking platforms to digital marketing – we learned everything ourselves. The property became one of the most booked holiday rentals in the area. The experience of building a digital business completely from scratch later shaped the idea of creating a digital platform.

When our daughter was born, priorities shifted. The desire for a simpler life, closer to my wife’s family, grew stronger. Since then, we regularly spend time in Thailand – and every visit deepens the connection to this country.

Inspiration from the Rice Fields

Buriram – a small province in the Isan, Thailand’s northeast. Far from the bustle of Bangkok and the tourist beaches. This is where my wife’s family roots lie, and where our second home has grown.

At first glance, Buriram seems unremarkable: endless rice fields, small villages, a quiet rural life. But beneath the surface lies something surprising. Strong internet, modern supermarkets, international schools – and with the Buriram International Circuit and Chang Arena, even world-class sports venues.

We spent three months there with our daughter. She ran through rice fields, played with the neighborhood children and ate freshly prepared Thai food from street stalls every evening. It was a life that felt simultaneously simple and rich.

It’s precisely this mix of traditional rural living and modern digital infrastructure that inspired the idea: remote work and simple living can go hand in hand. You don’t need to live in a big city to work globally connected. Buriram is living proof of that.

The Thailand Vloggers Who Changed Everything

Especially during the winter months in Europe, I passionately watch Thailand vlogs. These creators inspired me and ultimately led to the creation of this platform.

All these creators share a common passion: showing the real Thailand. But they’re scattered across YouTube, hard to discover and barely systematically findable. This is exactly the problem I wanted to solve.

Why This Platform Exists

The idea was simple: if I’m constantly searching for new Thailand vloggers, thousands of others are doing the same. Why isn’t there a central place where you can discover all Thailand content creators?

The problem is YouTube’s algorithm. Even with YouTube Premium and many subscriptions: as soon as you watch technical videos or other topics for a few weeks, Thailand creators disappear from your feed. Smaller channels especially become invisible – no matter how good their content is.

Thailand-Vloggers.com is the answer. The largest curated creator database for Thailand content. Here, creators aren’t sorted by algorithms but by regions, topics and categories – from street food to expat life to rural Thailand.

Whether you’re looking for a vlogger documenting Pattaya’s nightlife or someone showing the simple farm life in Isan – this platform helps you find exactly the creators that match your interests.

Sometimes the best ideas start far from home – somewhere between rice fields, street food stalls and a YouTube video that makes you miss a place you love.
