About Hua Hin

Hua Hin – Overview

Hua Hin is Thailand's oldest beach resort, located just 200 kilometers southwest of Bangkok on the Gulf of Thailand coast in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. With a population of around 85,000, this district-level town punches well above its weight in the vlogger world. The royal connection dates back to the 1920s when King Rama VII built the Klai Kangwon Palace, meaning Far From Worries, which is still used by the royal family today. This heritage has shaped Hua Hin into an upscale yet accessible resort town that stands apart from the mass tourism of Pattaya or Phuket.

Hua Hin – Nature & Sightseeing

Hua Hin Railway Station, built in Victorian style in the 1920s, is considered one of Southeast Asia's most beautiful train stations and a popular filming subject that establishes Hua Hin's character in a single shot. The Cicada Night Market, open Friday to Sunday from 4 PM with free entry, combines art galleries, live music, and street food in an atmospheric open-air setting that lifestyle vloggers adore. The Hua Hin Night Market stretches 500 meters along Dechanuchit Road with grilled squid from 100 to 150 Baht, Pad Thai from 50 Baht, mango sticky rice for 60 Baht, and fresh seafood platters from 200 Baht. At the Hua Hin Fishing Pier, early risers can buy the morning catch directly from returning boats, creating compelling market-to-table content. International dining options reflect the expat community, with German bakeries, Scandinavian cafes, and craft breweries lining Naresuan Road.

Hua Hin – Local Life

Sam Roi Yot National Park, 60 kilometers south at 200 Baht entry, is the regional nature highlight. The Phraya Nakhon Cave houses a royal pavilion built in 1890 for King Rama V, dramatically illuminated by sunbeams streaming through the collapsed roof between 10 and 11 AM from November to March. The 30-minute hike up is well worth the effort, and the image of the pavilion bathed in light has become one of Thailand's most iconic photographs. The park protects over 300 bird species, making it a paradise for wildlife content creators. Vana Nava Water Park offers family-friendly content with its jungle-themed attractions.
