Ton Tann Train Market (UD Night Market)
Udon Thani's liveliest night market built around vintage train carriages — Isaan street food, live music, and a genuine local atmosphere without tourist prices.

About this Place
Udon Thani's Ton Tann Night Market (widely known as the Train Market) is the city's most vibrant evening destination — a large open-air market complex built around repurposed vintage train carriages, with food vendors, live music stages, craft beer bars, and a genuine local atmosphere far removed from the tourist market circuit found in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. The market sets up daily from around 17:00 with Isaan food dominating: grilled pork neck (kor mu yang), green mango salad (tam mamuang), sticky rice (khao neow), northeastern herb sausages, and freshly blended tropical fruit drinks. A dedicated section of Thai street fashion, handmade jewellery, and local crafts fills the non-food areas. Thursday through Sunday evenings see live music from local bands and solo artists covering everything from Thai country music (luk thung) to rock and pop. The market draws a genuine cross-section of Udon Thani residents — young couples, families, expats, and market workers. One of the best introductions to Isaan food culture at prices the locals themselves pay.
