Set along the Maharaj Soi strip, dozens of vendors sell Southern Thai specialties that showcase the region's distinct culinary identity — fiery massaman and panang curries, freshly grilled seafood priced by the kilo, mango sticky rice, kanom krok coconut pancakes, and som tam papaya salad pounded to order. Cheap clothing, handmade handicrafts, and local produce fill the surrounding stalls. The Chao Fa Pier night market by the river operates daily with longtail boats and the mangrove riverbank as a scenic backdrop.
