Ao Nang Beach
Krabi's main resort hub with iconic limestone-cliff views, island-hopping boat tours departing every 15 minutes, and a lively beachfront dining and activity strip. The perfect base for exploring Krabi's famous islands and beaches.

About this Place
Ao Nang is Krabi's main resort town and the central hub for all island-hopping adventures in the region. A lively beachfront strip connects seafood restaurants, dive shops, tour operators, and longtail boat piers in one compact walkable area. The beach itself is characterful rather than pristine — dark sand backed by towering limestone cliffs — but its real value lies as an unrivalled launchpad. From here, longtails depart for Railay Beach (15 min), Four Islands snorkeling tours, Poda Island, and Hong Island sea kayaking. Sunset views from the beach are genuinely dramatic, with silhouetted karst formations rising from the sea. Snorkeling, kayaking, and rock climbing tours are easily booked from beachfront shops at competitive prices. Ao Nang offers a good selection of mid-range to luxury resorts within walking distance of the waterfront. Nopparat Thara Beach extends north and offers a quieter, more local atmosphere with fishing boats and a national park day-use area. The main drag has everything from convenience stores to rooftop bars.
