Kim Yong Market
Hat Yai's 70-year-old Chinese-Thai wholesale market — Malaysian shoppers, southern Thai Muslim food, fresh seafood, and the city's most authentic trading atmosphere.

About this Place
Kim Yong Market is Hat Yai's oldest and most authentic market — a sprawling Chinese-Thai wet market covering several city blocks that has operated continuously for over 70 years. Predominantly visited by Malaysian and Singaporean shoppers (Hat Yai is a major cross-border shopping destination), the market sells everything from live seafood and tropical fruits to fake branded goods, fabric, electronics, and southern Thai food specialties. The food section is the highlight: Malay-influenced southern Thai cuisine — roti canai, beef curry, grilled chicken with turmeric, fish ball noodles, and fresh-caught sea bass. The market extends into an outdoor section along Niphat Uthit Road. Early morning (06:00–09:00) is the most active and authentic time. Hat Yai's broader street food scene along Niphat Uthit 2–3 Roads is equally impressive in the evenings — satay, dim sum, and fruit juice stalls.
