Jomtien Beach
Pattaya's quieter 6km beach south of the city — popular with expats, kiteboarding, and families seeking less nightlife and more seaside calm.

About this Place
Jomtien Beach is Pattaya's calmer, more family-friendly alternative to the main bay beach — a 6km stretch of grey-brown sand 4km south of central Pattaya. Less raucous than Walking Street area, Jomtien attracts long-stay expats, retired travellers, families, and kiteboarding enthusiasts. The windward exposure makes it excellent for watersports: jet ski rentals, parasailing, kiteboarding lessons, and beach volleyball are all available. The beachfront road has seafood restaurants and convenience stores. Jomtien is popular with the German and Scandinavian expat community — many long-term guesthouses line the back streets. Not as pretty as Thai island beaches but much more accessible from Bangkok (2 hours by bus). Popular for longer stays combining beach living with Pattaya amenities.
