Koh Wai (Coral Island)
Trat's finest snorkelling island — pristine coral reefs from the beach, sea turtles, and the total silence of a tiny car-free island with two small resorts.

About this Place
Koh Wai is the most pristine snorkelling island in the Trat archipelago — a tiny, car-free island with exceptional coral reef quality. The fringing reef extends from both white-sand beaches almost immediately from shore, with hard coral, staghorn formations, and tropical fish at depths accessible without scuba equipment. Sea turtles are sighted regularly at Koh Wai. The island has two small resort operations providing bungalow accommodation and restaurants — no day-tripping hordes, no loud music. The silence, combined with the quality of the underwater world, makes Koh Wai a remarkable find for snorkelling enthusiasts. Day trips from Koh Chang and Koh Mak are possible. Alternatively, spend 1–3 nights for the full stripped-back experience. The ferry infrastructure is limited — check current schedules and boat availability carefully before planning. Best November–April when visibility is clearest.
