Pai Country Hut
Rustic bamboo huts on the Pai River bank offering an unplugged riverside retreat for backpackers.
About this Place
There is a reason Pai Country Hut has remained a backpacker favourite for over a decade despite never bothering with a website. Simple bamboo huts line the bank of the Pai River, each elevated on stilts and open to the sounds of flowing water and rustling bamboo. The experience is deliberately unplugged — no television, no air conditioning, just mosquito nets, hammocks, and the kind of silence that city dwellers have forgotten exists. Mornings begin with birdsong and the mist rising off the river. A short walk along the riverbank leads to Pai's Walking Street, but many guests find themselves spending entire days reading in their hammocks, watching the river drift by. Nightly bonfires during the cool season draw guests together under canopies of stars.
