Mo Paeng Waterfall
Pai's best swimming waterfall — multi-tiered cascades over flat rock shelves with natural pools, reached by a scenic motorbike ride through Karen villages.

About this Place
Mo Paeng Waterfall is Pai's most swimmable and popular waterfall, located 8km west of town along a winding mountain road past Karen hill tribe villages. The falls cascade over flat rock shelves into natural pools ideal for bathing, with the wide shallow sections perfect for sitting under the falling water. The multi-tiered structure means there are calmer pools higher up and more dramatic falls below. The surrounding forest provides shade and the sound of water and birdsong drowns out everything else. Most accessible by motorbike (one of the most scenic rides in the Pai area). The road itself passes through rice paddies, bamboo groves, and Karen villages where traditional weaving and crafts can be purchased. Best in cool season (Nov–Feb) when water is flowing well but not dangerously strong.
