Bueng Kaen Nakhon is a large urban lake in the heart of Khon Kaen and the citys social center. The 4 km promenade around the lake is popular with joggers, cyclists, and walkers, especially at sunset. On the south shore stands the impressive 9-story Phra Mahathat Kaen Nakhon temple. The evening market on the lakeside offers excellent Isan cuisine at affordable prices.
