About this Place

Sanam Chandra Palace was the summer residence of King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) and combines Western and Thai architectural styles. The expansive palace complex includes several English Tudor-style buildings, including the Chali Mongkol Asana residence and the Tabak Pavilion. The beautiful gardens are now a public park and popular photo spot. A statue of the kings loyal dog Ya Le stands in the garden.
