About this Place
Ku Phra Kona is a significant 11th-century Khmer temple ruin near Roi Et. The three sandstone and laterite prangs are the best-preserved Khmer ruins in the province, testament to the former extent of the Khmer Empire into northeast Thailand. The lintels depicting Vishnu and Shiva are particularly finely carved and among the most beautiful Khmer reliefs in the region.
