About this Place
Tham Khao Luang is a spectacular cave at the base of Khao Luang mountain in Phetchaburi. Shafts of light stream through holes in the ceiling, illuminating numerous Buddha statues donated by Rattanakosin-era kings. The best time to visit is late morning (10:00-12:00) when sunlight falls directly on the statues, creating an almost otherworldly atmosphere.
