The night market here is thoroughly local with minimal tourist presence, serving authentic Southern Thai Muslim-influenced food: massaman curry, roti canai, fish cakes, and fresh river prawns alongside standard Thai dishes. The nearby Ban Don Night Bazaar on Tonpho Road adds clothes and local produce. Surat Thani is primarily a transit town but its waterfront and genuine local markets give it authentic character.
