Three Khmer temple ruins on the Cambodian border — rest stations on the royal road from Angkor to Phimai.
About this Place
Prasat Ta Mueang is a complex of three Khmer temple ruins on the Cambodian border, built in the 11th-12th century. The ruins served as rest stations on the royal road from Angkor to Phimai. Prasat Ta Mueang Thom is the largest of the three complexes with impressive sandstone lintels. The remote border location gives the ruins a mystical atmosphere.
