Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park
UNESCO World Heritage Sukhothai-era ruins in two zones — less visited and more atmospheric than Sukhothai itself.
About this Place
Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was once a fortified frontier city of the Sukhothai Kingdom. The park consists of two areas: the walled old city with Wat Phra Kaeo and Wat Phra That, and the Aranyik forest zone with monastic retreats amid tropical vegetation. The ruins see fewer visitors than Sukhothai, offering a more intimate experience of Thai history.
